Defend Black Memories:Maggie L. Walker Historical Portrait AOP Tote Bag
Defend Black Memories Collection: Maggie L. Walker, became the first African-American woman to charter and serve as president of a bank in the United States when she opened St. Luke Penny Savings Bank in Richmond, Virginia, in November 1903.
Carry history and purpose with you every day. This roomy tote brings a vintage portrait and archival architecture into modern life — a soft, durable polyester canvas printed edge-to-edge so the image reads clearly on errands, commutes, or library runs.
The boxed corners give the bag a roomy silhouette that holds books, a water bottle, and small treasures without losing shape. Reinforced handles and matching inner seams mean the bag stands up to repetition, while the understated laminate interior keeps things tidy. When you sling it over your shoulder, it feels like bringing a quiet piece of legacy into the present: useful, thoughtful, and quietly bold.
Each portrait piece comes with a QR code that takes you to a brief bio about the person or erasure event depicted on the garment.
